new Delhi. On Monday, the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) successfully launched the Hypersonic Technology Demontrator Vehicle using the indigenously developed Scramjet Propulsion System.

After this launching, they are now set up to process the next phase. It will be used as a vehicle for the launch of long-range cruise missiles and rockets at extremely high speeds. The launching was done from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) of Dr. Abdul Kalam Island in Balasore, Odisha.

Talking about the characteristics of this hypersonic, it is an unmanned scramjet system to fly at speed. The speed of which is 6 times more than the speed of sound. With this, it reaches a height of about 32.5 km in 20 seconds in the sky. Let me tell you that the HTDV project, a hypersonic technology Demonstrator vehicle, is an ambitious project of DRDO. It aims to serve many military and civilian targets.

On this occasion, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the DRDO and its scientists. Rajnath Singh said that the institute is engaged in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of self-reliant India. The Defense Minister tweeted, “DRDO has today successfully tested the Hypersonic Technology Demonstrator Vehicle using an indigenously developed Scramjet Propulsion System.”

In his tweet, the Defense Minister said, ‘I congratulate DRDO for this great achievement which is in the direction of realizing PM Modi’s dream of self-reliant India. I spoke to the scientists associated with the project and congratulated them on this great achievement. India is proud of them.

The DRDO is the R&D wing of the Ministry of Defense, Government of India, which works towards empowering India to achieve self-sufficiency in state-of-the-art defense technologies and systems.
