Mumbai, 7 May: Filmmaker Aditya Chopra launched ‘Yash Chopra Saathi’ initiative on Friday with the objective of financially supporting the daily wages of the film industry. Due to the second wave of corona virus epidemic, these workers are facing financial difficulties. Under this initiative, Yash Chopra Foundation will provide Rs 5,000 to women and senior citizens working in the film industry. Also, through its partner NGO ‘Youth Feed India’, it will distribute ration to the family of four workers in the whole month.
The production house said in a press release that needy people can avail this help by applying online. Akshay Vidhani, senior vice president of Yash Raj Films, said the foundation is committed to providing support to the Hindi film industry and its workers who have been an important part of its 50-year journey. Last week, Yash Raj Films had also requested Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to help the production house in applying the anti-Kovid-19 vaccine to 30,000 cine workers.
