Music Composer Raamlaxman Dies: Veteran music composer Vijay Patil alias Ram Lakshan died on Saturday in Nagpur. He was ill for a long time and he was 79 years old. He breathed his last at around 1 in the night. He was staying with his son and he will be cremated at 12 noon today.
In his 40-year-long music career, he composed music for more than 150 Hindi Marathi and Bhojpuri films. It also includes films like ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’. Born in Nagpur on September 16, 1942, the musician took music training from his father and uncle. After this, he learned music from Bhatkhande educational institution.

Marathi actor-filmmaker Dada Kondke signed him for the first time as a music composer for the film ‘Pandu Hawaldar’ (1974). This was followed by music for several films including ‘Tumcha Aamcha Jamla’, ‘Ram Ram Gangaram’, ‘Boat Lavil Tithe Gudagulya’ produced by Conde.
He was the Lakshman of the ‘Ram-Symptom’ musician duo. However, even after the death of his partner Ram, he continued to work with the same name. He has also composed music for Hindi films such as ‘Agent Vinod’, ‘Tarana’, ‘Hum Se Badhar Kaun’, ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’, ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’, ‘100 Des’ and Anmol.
