The arrest comes nearly two-and-a-half months after filing a 12,000-page chargesheet against 33 people, including actress Riya Chakraborty, her brother Shovik and others in the Bollywood-drugs mafia investigation involving Sushant’s death on June 14, 2020.

The chargesheet was filed before the Mumbai Special NDPS Court on 5 March, following two cases filed by the Drug Law Enforcement Agency following an intimation from the Enforcement Directorate. The NCB is investigating the financial angle in the case of Sushant’s death.
