new Delhi. Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is recognized as the highest institutions of education in the entire country. But this university has also become the center of controversy for many reasons. You will also be surprised to know that the land on which this university was built was donated by the King Mahendra Pratap Singh. Now a university in the name of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh, Yogi Government is building in Aligarh. Although its construction was approved with the formation of the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, but now Yogi Adityanath has ordered to speed up its construction. So that the construction work of this university can be completed before 2022.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered officials to expedite the construction work of the university. It is clear that the Chief Minister is watching all the development projects in the state. In such a situation, it has now been ordered by the CM to expedite its construction so that it becomes a university before 2022.
It is believed that Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh had given land for the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), but his name was not mentioned anywhere and no stone was planted in his name. In such a situation, the government of Yogi Adityanath decided to set up a state-level university in Aligarh in the name of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh while staying at Aligarh Muslim University. BJP MPs and MLAs have thanked the Chief Minister for the university named after Raja Mahendra Pratap.
The demand for a university in the name of Raja Mahendra Pratap in Uttar Pradesh arose in 2018, when BJP leaders from Haryana called for the renaming of the Aligarh Muslim University after Jat Raja. At that time, it was emphasized that Mahendra Pratap had ‘donated land for AMU’. In such a situation, a university should be constructed in his name also. After this, the Yogi government had assured to establish a new university in Aligarh in the name of Raja Mahendra Pratap in 2019. After this, CM announced the creation of the university on 14 September 2019. For this, the district administration decided to give more than 37 hectares of government land while another 10 hectares of land was acquired.
At the same time, CM Yogi Adityanath stressed that Aligarh has to play an important role in the dream of ‘self-reliant India’. In such a situation, he directed the officials to expedite the smart city project. CM reiterated that all development work should be completed on time without compromising on quality. With this, he said that the fixed time period should be followed at all costs.
