Two Eid are celebrated in the religion of Islam. Eid al-Fitr after Ramadan and Eid al-Adha after Haj, also known as Bakrid. Different rituals are performed on both Eid. Muslims give ‘Fitra’ in Eid-ul-Fitr while animal flesh is distributed in Eid-ul-Adha. Ramadan is that time of the year when Muslims keep an eye on the poor and the needy to see if they are hungry. They have the same right to celebrate Eid as much as we and our family. However, Allah has entrusted this responsibility to every Muslim.
What is Fitra and who should it give?
Fitra or Zakat-ul-Fitr is a donation that every Muslim must give to the poor and needy after seeing the moon of Eid. But since it is not possible to find the poor and the needy in just a few hours between sunset and dawn, Muslims tend to date from the 27th of Ramadan. The head of the Fitra family gives it on behalf of every member of his household, so that the person receiving the Fitra can also celebrate the joy of Eid in their homes. Apart from this, if there is a guest staying in your house, who will celebrate Eid with you, then you also have to give the result.
Why give fitra?
The next day, after seeing the moon, Muslims start celebrating Eid. What child is there, a supernatural joy appears on the face of everyone. But according to the religion of Islam, you have the right to celebrate this happiness only when the poor around you are also celebrating the joy of Eid. You cannot celebrate Eid celebration or happiness alone. This donation has been made mandatory in the religion of Islam so that we can also understand our responsibility towards our society. Zakat can be sent outside the city to other parts of the world, where you know that they need your help.
