Ramnavami 2021: According to Vishnu Purana, in the Treta Yuga, when iniquity and tyranny dominated the earth, the demons started destroying the yagna of the sages, then Lord Vishnu destroyed the iniquity and established the religion of Sri Ram. As the seventh incarnation was taken on earth. It is said that the day Lord Vishnu was born in the form of Rama from the womb of Queen Kaushalya (Kaushalya), it was the day of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. That is why people of Hinduism celebrate this day in the name of Ramnavami. According to the English calendar, this year, the festival of Ram Navami will be celebrated on 21 March 2021.

How to celebrate Ram Navami?

Taking Lord Rama as a symbol of dignity, he is called Purushottam, that is, the best among men. The whole country celebrates Ram Navami on the Navami date of the full moon of the bright moon of Chaitra month. On this day, Prabhat Ferrians are taken out in the morning, in which kirtan hymns etc. are sung in praise of Lord Shri Ram. In many places, the Akhand recitation of Ramcharit Manas begins on Ashtami and is concluded at the time of Navami i.e. Shri Ram’s birth. This is followed by havan. On this day there is a recitation of Shri Ram Stroth in Ram temples. The birth anniversary of Shriram is celebrated with great pomp as soon as twelve o’clock in the day. During this time, the idol of childhood of Shri Ram Lala is bathed with panchamrit and Ganga water and wearing new clothes and jewelery is placed on the swing. At twelve o’clock, swinging the swing and celebrating his birth anniversary, ‘Jai Shri Ram’ is proclaimed. Ram devotees keep fast. It is believed that by keeping fast on the occasion of Shri Ram’s birth, all the wishes of those who worship Lord Rama are fulfilled, and all sins are destroyed and salvation is attained after death.

Why is sun worship on this day?

Surya Puja has special significance on the day of Rama Navami. It is believed that Shriram belonged to Raghukul dynasty. King Raghu was very heroic, majestic and Danveer, who also defeated Indra in a battle. Sri Ram was the great-grandson of King Raghu. Raghu means sun. For this reason, Shri Ram is also called Suryavanshi. That is why Surya-puja is performed with full devotion and faith on the day of Ramnavami. How was Shriram born?

Raghuvanshi emperor Raja Dasharatha, whose majesty was prevalent in the other directions, people used to give examples of his valor and bravery. King Dasaratha had done three marriages to get children, yet he did not get children. When he consulted the learned sages and sages in this matter, the sages advised him to have a son-sacrifice sacrifice. After the yajna, the sages offered kheer to King Dasharatha in the form of offerings and said that he should distribute it among his wives. King Dasharatha gave that Kheer to his dearest wife Kaushalya. Kaushalya gave half of the kheer to Kaikeyi. After this, Kaushalya and Kaikeyi gave half of their kheer to Sumitra. On the day of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month after eating Kheer, Kaushalya gave birth to two sons Lakshman and Shatrughna by eating two portions by Kaikeyi, Bharata and Sumitra.
