World Environment Day 2021: In this era of modernity, the process of indiscriminate felling of forests to make concrete forests continues, as a result of which the forests are being destroyed and there is a shortage of trees and plants, towards the forests. Human encroachment is increasing at such a fast pace that it is causing maximum damage to the environment, whereas the reality is that if there is environment then there is human life, so it is the responsibility of all of us to protect the environment. In such a situation, World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5th June to raise awareness about nature and environmental protection. On this day people are motivated to protect the environment and made aware about its conservation. Let us know the history of World Environment Day, this year’s theme and its importance.
History of World Environment Day
Talking about the history of World Environment Day, in the year 1972, at the World Environment Conference organized by the United Nations General Assembly, there was a discussion about celebrating this day. After this, World Environment Day was celebrated for the first time on 5 June 1974, since then this day of awareness of nature is being celebrated every year on 5 June.
World Environment Day 2021 Theme
Every year World Environment Day is celebrated with a special theme. Like every year, this year also a special theme has been set for World Environment Day. The theme of this year i.e. 2021 is ecosystem restoration. The restoration of the ecosystem can be done in many ways such as planting trees, making the city green, rebuilding the gardens, cleaning the rivers and banks etc. In such a situation, on this Environment Day, everyone should take a pledge to protect the environment. importance of world environment day
It cannot be denied that the existence of the entire human race, animals, birds and creatures is dependent on nature, so instead of tampering with nature, everyone should take a pledge to conserve it. Various types of awareness programs are organized on this day to spread awareness about the environment. Tree plantation programs are organized on this day in many places.
It is true that to save nature and to keep the environment green, not just one person, but everyone has to come forward. We should take care of them by planting trees at least once or twice a year. Along with this, it should be resolved that we will fulfill our responsibility in preventing pollution.
